The Kia Carnival is the second offering from the South Korean carmaker in India and enters a new growing segment of full-size luxury MPVs. The Carnival officially went on sale in India at the Auto Expo 2020, and it’s offered in 3 variants - Premium, Prestige and top variant Kia carnival Limousine and it come in 7-, 8-, and 9-seater cabin layout options. The premium MPV is positioned above the Toyota Innova Crysta in the segment

The Kia Carnival 2020 comes with the signature Tiger Nose grille finished in chrome and flanked by large, sweptback headlamps with LED projector units and integrated LED daytime running lamps and indicators. The fog lamps are also LED units and the bumper also features a large central air dam and chrome brackets on either end. The Kia Carnival boasts of an upmarket design language and massive proportions, but it is the side panels that give you a sense of the spacious cabin. The power sliding doors allow easy ingress and egress to the rear with easy access to passengers.

On the features front, the Kia New car comes with dual electric sunroofs, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, laptop charging point, powered tailgate, one-touch powered sliding doors, and dual-zone climate control. The top trim comes with a 10.1-inch entertainment screen for the rear passengers. There's UVO connected tech on offer as well that further allows you to control certain functions of the car via a mobile app. Furthermore, the MPV also comes with luxury captain seats for the second row to further improve the chauffeur-driven experience.

Now if we talk about the Kia carnival top variant its comes with 7-seater with middle row luxury VIP seats with leg support, leather seats, steering wheel and gear knob topped with wood garnish. Differentiating the limousine from other variants are the 18-inch chrome-finish alloy wheels.

It also gains UVO connected car (free for 3 years), Harman/Kardon premium 8-speaker sound system and 10.1-inch dual touchscreen rear-seat entertainment system, 10-way power driver seat, driver seat ventilation, wireless charger, and smartwatch connectivity.

The 2020 Kia Carnival is a 7 seater MPV and has a length of 5115, the width of 1985 and a wheelbase of 3060.

With its massive dimensions and weight, one wouldn’t expect the Kia Carnival to be able to move around quickly. Surprisingly though, it does! That’s courtesy the 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine with Variable geometry. Power output is healthy at 197 hp along with a torque of 440 Nm. The engine pulls cleanly from as low as 1,750 rpm and one can ride the torque wave till about 3,000 rpm after which things start to taper off. There’s only one transmission on offer, an eight-speed automatic unit, which is mated well to the engine. Shifts aren’t very quick but they aren’t sluggish either and perform in sync with the positioning of a luxury MPV.

The Kia Carnival continues to impress with its safety offerings as well. The MPV comes with six airbags, ABS, ESP, Cruise Control, Hill Start Assist, Parking Assist, and the added safety UVO. The structure also uses a mix of materials including Ultra high-strength, high strength steel, aluminum and a lot more to minimize structural deformation and damage to occupants in the event of a crash.

New Kia Carnival is offered in 3 colors: Aurora Black Pearl, Steel Silver, and Glacier white Pearl. However, some of these colors are available in specific versions.

Kia MVP is competing against Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Kona Electric, Isuzu MU-X, and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
