The Calligraphy trim adds on to the Limited trim, which used to be the top level in the lineup. Outside, it adds 20-inch alloy wheels, specific front and rear signature LED lighting, and additional exterior trim bits. Inside, extras include a microfiber suede headliner, quilted leather door panels and a perforated leather steering wheel.

Mechanically, the all-wheel-drive-only Calligraphy trim adds a downhill brake control system as well as Snow Mode. The new top-of-the-line model starts at $48,890 (including $1,140 destination charge) — $925 more than the penultimate Limited AWD trim.

Elsewhere in the Palisade lineup, other trim levels and options packages are getting some equipment shuffled for 2021. Hyundai says the Drive Guidance Package, which includes the 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation system, Highway Drive Assist system, SiriusXM Radio, Blue Link and Driver Talk in-car intercom system, is now part of the Premium Package.

Base SE trim vehicles and above not equipped with navigation now get multiple-device connection capability, HD radio and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Also, LED headlamps are now standard across the lineup, while moonroof and LED map-interior lights have been added to SEL trims and above. Lastly, the Palisade’s trailer pre-wiring connectors for towing now use an upgraded seven-pin connector design, enhanced from the previous model’s four-pin connector design.

The cost additions for 2021 are minor. Base SE versions with FWD start at $33,665, $550 more than the outgoing model. Base SE versions with AWD start at $35,365, slightly more than the outgoing version’s $34,815 price.
