2021 Kia Carnival's rear sliding door doesn't always retracts when it detects an object on its path. By design and for the sake of safety, power operated automatic windows and doors have a sensor that detects an object on its path via resistance. This door is supposed to retract but it doesn't always do that. I have recommended my business partner who owns the car to take it in for sensitivity check on its door sensor as his Carnival is one of the earliest model that came on for sale last year.
