Amazing!! 2025 Hybrid Toyota Sienna The Ultimate Family Future of Minivans
The 2025 Toyota Sienna Hybrid, the segment's unquestioned champion for fuel efficiency, conceals its mild-mannered nature behind a massive maw and an abundance of curves and angles meant to set it apart from the minivan standard. However, its minivan credentials—dual sliding side doors, a roomy cabin with three rows of seating, and a sizable rear tailgate that can swallow cargo—cannot be hidden by any amount of daring appearance. The amenities are elegant, the ride is well-organized, and the cabin is peaceful. However, in contrast to most minivans, the second-row seats are not detachable, which may not suit the tastes of all users. The only hybrid model available for this fourth-generation Sienna is the 245 horsepower model, which comes with front- or all-wheel drive. With an EPA-estimated combined fuel economy of 36 mpg (35 for AWD), the Sienna Hybrid is more fuel-efficient than many of its rivals, but it is slower and produces a loud engine noise when accelerating quickly, which can be heard throughout the normally quiet cabin. Although the Sienna is deserving of its position in this closely clustered category and on our list of Editors' Choice for 2024, there are still certain aspects of the Chrysler Pacifica, Honda Odyssey, and Kia Carnival that we find more appealing.
With its sunroof, front sport seats, premium audio with navigation (a JBL system is also available), second-row captain's chairs, and Toyota's "one-motion" 60/40 split & stow third row, the sporty XSE model has us smitten. Twenty-inch wheels, more aggressive front and rear bumpers, and a tauter suspension are some of the exterior modifications. Like all Sienna models, the XSE has front-wheel drive as standard, but all-wheel drive can be added for a mere $760, and we think that's a worthwhile improvement.
Performance, Engine, and Transmission
Ever after its makeover in 2021, the Sienna has only been available as a hybrid. A 2.5-liter gasoline-powered four-cylinder engine and two electric motors with a combined output of 245 horsepower form the basis of the powertrain. A third electric motor that only powers the rear wheels is added to provide all-wheel drive, which is offered across the lineup. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, the only other hybrid in the sector and the major opponent of the Sienna Hybrid, is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) with 260 horsepower. The Sienna Hybrid is one of two hybrid minivans currently on the market.
There are six speakers in the standard stereo, and eight speakers in the XLE versions. For the Limited and Platinum models, a 12-speaker JBL sound system is standard; it is an optional feature for the XLE and XSE. Beginning with the XSE trim level, in-dash navigation is included as standard equipment. All models other than the base LE have an optional rear-seat entertainment system with an 11.6-inch monitor. Important driving information is shown on a 7-inch instrument cluster display, while Platinum models are equipped with a head-up display as standard.
