In this video, we show a complete disassembly of a side mirror, including the folding motor mechanism, for mirrors with automatic folding (without driver’s seat memory).
The main cause of failure is the aluminum pin and spring, which you can see at the end when we show the inside of the folding motor.

When removing the three bolts, a Torx tool is required. Be careful—these bolts are aluminum, and if handled incorrectly, the heads can be damaged, making it impossible to unscrew them. In that case, drilling will be necessary, which is not always easy.
Take your time and use a quality Torx driver. I do not recommend using an impact drill, but if you do, proceed with caution.

This repair method applies to all Kia Carnival models from 2020 to 2026.
