The 2023 Kia Carnival is built on the third generation N3 platform, which was first used on the eighth generation Hyundai Sonata sedan. It is also used by models such as the new Santa Fe, Tucson, Staria, as well as the latest generation Kia K5, Sportage and Sorento. In the home market in Korea, Carnival is equipped with a V6 3.5 GDI gasoline engine with combined injection (294 hp, 355 Nm) and a 2.2 diesel engine with 202 hp. (441 Nm).
