It is very well known that Kia has been developing a seven-seater MPV based on the same platform as their Seltos model for some time now. The test mules of this MPV have been spotted on numerous occasions. Internally codenamed KY, this MPV made its worldwide debut on December 16th, 2021. It is likely to be named Kia Carens upon its launch worldwide and will be positioned below Carnival.
We haven't heard much about the Kia Carens since it was discontinued a few years ago. It's not something many people talk about, so we wouldn't be surprised if some don't remember the nameplate.
Introduced back in 1999, the South Korean company's Carens model is now transitioning to its fourth generation, which will feature a significantly different character as it is no longer dubbed as a minivan.

Yes, the headlights and taillights resemble those of the latest Sportage, while the chunky plastic cladding on the wheel arches shows the updated outdoorsy profile of the 2022 Carens. It's almost flat roofline increases the headroom inside, where the car will be offered with either six or seven seats.
Based on what Kia has shown its fans, it seems like the new 2022 model will be styled as aggressively as all the Kia cars of today. It'll get a pair of dazzling headlights up front matched with equally striking taillights outback. The Carens will likely be offered in four broad trims: Premium, Prestige, Luxury, and Luxury Plus, across 6 and 7 seater configurations. The official bookings of the Kia Carens will open on January 14, 2022.
Inside the Carens, Kia will offer a variety of features.

The Kia Carens measures 178.7 inches long, 71 inches wide, and 67 inches tall. It will be getting the same engines as the locally available in the Kia Seltos. And as for the diesel, it sends power to the wheels via a six-speed torque-converter auto. Multiple reports also claim that the new Carens is expected to share the same setup under the hood as its cousin, the Hyundai Alcazar.

In terms of the exterior, the new 2022 Kia Carens will flaunt an all-LED illumination. Only the top best variant of Kia Carens will be coming. The new 2022 Kia Carens will also benefit a lot from front parking sensors for added safety.
And as for the inside of the cabin of the Carens, the MPV will boast a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system which will be enabled with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, as well as Kia's UVO connected car tech. The touchscreen system's software will be more advanced than what is on offer with current Kia cars worldwide. Many other features on offer of the new Kia Carens.
Another very special feature on the all new 2022 Kia Carens is a one-touch electric folding seat to access the third-row seats.

With 64-color LED ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and an air purifier, the all new Kia Carens is vastly more sophisticated than its old model. Moreover, the new Carens will also have support for over-the-air updates.
Further, Kia will offer ambient lighting. Moreover, the iconic Kia logo will be projected on rear doors.

The cabin of the all new 2022 Kia Carens MPV will offer practicality and efficiency to the people on board.
All black interiors will be on offer for Kia Carens. Kia Carens will be provided as a 6 or 7 seater MPV.
