Top 10 Selling Cars in August 2021..
The last two years have been the most challenging for the Indian automotive market. The sales saw a huge dip and a whole month with zero sales across all brands. However, the market is now showing a strong comeback with positive growth. In the H1 of 2021, Maruti takes the top four positions of the top 10 list. Hyundai Creta overtakes Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and becomes the 5th best selling car.
Despite the ongoing pandemic sales figures have fared well for the automotive industry, with almost double the sales as compared to the same point in time back in 2020. And as usually expected, Maruti Suzuki has taken control of the car sales, dominating the top ten list.
Maruti Suzuki has continued to best other carmakers by bagging eight out of the top 10 sales, while Hyundai and Tata have occupied the remaining slots. Just like the previous month the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Swift and Baleno have marked the top three spots. The Hyundai Creta and Tata Nexon are the only models from their respective lineup that have made it up to the top 10 sales spots this July.
In Aug'21, only 6 out of the Top 10 cars came from Maruti's stable. Maruti's Baleno dethroned the siblings Wagon-R, Swift and Alto to jump to the Top Slot in model-wise rank for August 2021. Brezza ranked third in the list with dispatches of 12,906 units and emerged as the best-selling SUV for Aug'21!
Hyundai had 5 models faring in the Top 25 cars. Creta ranked fourth in the table and became the best-selling Mid SUV for August 2021! Creta was closely followed by Venue with dispatches of 8,377 units and the model grew 1 percent over August 2020.
Hyundai continues its dominance in the SUV segment - Had Creta as the segment leader among Mid SUVs in August 2021 and crossed 12.5k units. Also, Venue and Alcazar sales supported accordingly.
Tata Nexon did stellar volumes and ranked 7th on the list. Nexon recorded dispatches of over 10k units for the second consecutive month and emerged as the second best-selling Compact SUV of August 2021. Nexon was able to successfully overtake the likes of Venue and Sonet! Even the EV variant is contributing significantly to overall model volumes!
Kia managed to sneak in to the Top 10 after a very long time and Seltos fared 9th in the list. Even Sonet was closed and ranked 12th in the Top 25.
