A GDI high-pressure fuel pump is a specialized component in a Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine that delivers fuel at significantly high pressure directly into the combustion chamber of each cylinder, enabling precise fuel injection and contributing to improved engine efficiency and power by creating a finely atomized fuel spray; it is typically driven by the engine's camshaft and operates with a control valve to regulate the amount of fuel delivered based on engine conditions, usually generating pressures ranging from 500 to 2,900 PSI
