The new MG Marvel R Electric will be available in stores of European MG brands from the end of October 2021. European prices start at 39,990 euros for the Comfort version. For an additional cost of just 4,000 euros, the SUV is available in the Luxury trim (43,990 euros). The most complete and powerful Performance version is available from 47,990 euros.
Unveiled last March, the MG Marvel R Electric is the brand's flagship SUV aimed at European motorists who value design, technology and performance. The largest and most luxurious SUV in the MG portfolio, it offers a spacious interior with great attention to refinement, quality and technology. Particularly striking is the 19.4-inch central touchscreen for operating the brand new MG iSMART communication system with a wide range of (online) functions and connectivity via a smartphone app that can be used to control various functions remotely.
Depending on the market, buyers can choose from three trim levels (Comfort, Luxury and Performance) and two advanced powertrain options (RWD and AWD). Both Comfort and Luxury have rear-wheel drive, two electric motors, 132 kW (180 hp) system power, 410 Nm of torque and a WLTP range of 402 km. The Performance version adds an electric motor to the front axle and offers permanent all-wheel drive. System power and maximum torque are set at 212 kW (288 hp) and 665 Nm in combination with a range of 370 kilometers (WLTP).
All versions of the Marvel R Electric are equipped with a 70 kWh battery and an 11 kW 3-phase on-board charger for fast AC charging. The battery is also suitable for fast charging (constant current) with a maximum output of 92 kW, which allows the battery to be charged from 5 to 80% in just 43 minutes. In addition, Marvel R Electric standard equipment includes a wide range of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a heat pump that can heat or cool the battery (and interior) to ensure optimal charging performance under all circumstances, and is also referred to as a V2L system. (vehicle-cargo). This striking feature allows the battery to supply energy to an external electrical system such as an air pump, electric scooter, laptop, or even another BEV.
